A young couple's excitement at moving into their very first home together was brutally dampened when they discovered a hostile, threatening notetaped to their door just hours after arrival.
The anonymous letter accused them of disturbing neighbors - despite their move-in lasting only a few hours - and even warned of fines and potential eviction for violating alleged noise rules.
Taking to Reddit, the couple shared that they had been moving in boxes between 2pm and 4pm, then briefly returned later to relocate a mattress around 6.30pm before heading out to celebrate their special day.
Moments after, they found the anonymous note signed simply "ENOUGH!", which read: "It's day one for you and you've already interrupted ALL of your neighbours' lives. Your disrespectful slamming doors, yelling, stomping etc will not be tolerated! This is a STRATA; with strata rules! Noise will not be tolerated."

A 'strata' home is a property within a larger development, typically a block of flats. It means occupants will have shared access to hallways, lifts, and gardens.
The note went on to threaten: "Should you continue, there will be noise violation warnings from our strata then fines will start which can lead to eviction!"
It concluded: "We've paid very good money to purchase these homes to get away from ignorant, disrespectful RENTERS! Read over your booklet of rules! ENOUGH!"
Understandably upset, the couple described how the belated welcome "really put a damper on what was otherwise a very special day" for them.
Building management and their landlord reassured the couple that they had broken no rules and apologised, calling the note "borderline harassment."
The couple suspects one woman - possibly in her late 60s - who'd been seen staring into their apartment from her balcony, may have written the note.
They said she hastily closed the blinds when noticed, adding there's no definite proof and they "don't even walk past her unit when we take the elevator."
The ordeal drew over 51,000 upvotes and thousands of comments in just two days. One person encouraged the couple to get a doorbell camera, adding: "People are less ballsy to put notes if they know they're on camera.."
Another said: "Next time you spot her staring at you, smile and wave enthusiastically. ‘Hi, neighbor!’... Then completely stonewall her for the rest of your tenancy."
A third user wrote: "God forbid you make SOUND while MOVING. Sorry you appear to have a nightmare neighbour already..."
